Finsbury - Reporting from and for the City of London

Kate's Lace.

16 Jan 2012

The full force of the ‘Kate Effect’ is being felt right here at one Islington's vintage clothing shops.

Owner Annie Moss told us that sales have been significantly boosted after rumours began circulating that lace for the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress may have been sourced there.

Annie’s Vintage Clothing Shop, on Camden Passage is a treasure trove of antique, luxury clothes and accessories.

Even months on, they are still feeling the positive effects of being linked to the Duchess’s wedding dress, after a rumour emerged that designer and regular customer Sarah Burton may have sourced lace there.

The dress was one of last year’s best kept fashion secrets, so we may never know exactly where the lace came from.

Whether Sarah Burton did or didn’t source the lace here doesn’t really matter.

Just a hint of celebrity is enough to get people flocking through the doors!
